Ahmed Abdihadi

Ahmed Abdihadi is an experienced expert in civic engagement and political participation with a strong focus on political analysis, state-society relations, and government administration.

Ahmed joined Balqiis in 2024, where he provides technical advisory to the company’s public sector-facing portfolio. Ahmed is passionate about reconstituting Somalia’s statecraft, a focus of his decade-long career. His work spans academia, political activism, media relations, and mass communication. Before joining Balqiis, Ahmed served as a Key Expert in Research and Stakeholder Engagement for Adam Smith International and as Public Relations Director at Somali International University (SIU). His extensive experience includes managing communication projects, leading social development activities, and maintaining a vast network of media professionals, including journalists, editors, and political commentators. Additionally, he has been actively involved in youth leadership, activism, and volunteerism. Ahmed also co-founded Baraarug Library, an initiative promoting a culture of reading across Somalia while providing foundational training to develop the country’s next generation of researchers. The initiative currently has a membership exceeding 50,000.
